The newly elected President of INQAAHE, Ms. Carol Bobby, will speak at the annual conference of the European Alliance for Subject-Specific and Professional Accreditation and Quality Assurance.

The European network of subject-specific and professional quality assurance EASPA invites to an international conference “Subject-based Quality Assurance: its contribution to quality development and mobility”.

The General Assembly has approved the membership application of the Spanish agency ANECA.

EQANIE now provides a Russian version of the Euro-Inf Framework Standards and Accreditation Criteria. Thus, alongside the original English version, translations are now available in four languages ​​(German, Italian, Russian, Spanish).

Steady progress in accreditation activities / new high-profile industry representative on the Accreditation Committee / expanded expert pool / member organisations and authorised agencies

On 1 January 2012, the newly elected Executive Board of the European Quality Assurance Network of Informatics Education, EQANIE, took charge for the term 2012-2015.

The Workshop "Accreditation for Degree Programmes in Informatics – Requirements, Procedures, Experiences" that was held in Barcelona on 25 October 2011 was received with a lot of interest: More than half of all Spanish HEIs were represented.

The Conference “Dimensions of Quality Assurance in Informatics Education 2011” that took place at Lake Como in Italy on 22-23 September 2011 was a great succes and provided an appropriate context for the celebration of the award of the 5 first Euro-Inf Quality Labels by EQANIE.

The Euro-Inf Framework Standards and Accreditation Criteria are now also available in Spanish. Next to the Italian and the German version, this is the third version in a language other than English.

EQANIE and the partners of the Euro-Inf Spread Project invite to a workshop on accreditation in Barcelona on Tuesday, October 25th, 2011.

As first Higher Education Institutions in Europe, RWTH Aachen and the University of Bonn were awarded the Euro-Inf Quality Label for their jointly offered Master’s degree programmes “Media Informatics” and “Life Science Informatics”. Also the Master’s degree programme “Software Systems Engineering”, which is offered exclusively by RWTH Aachen University received the label.

Since April 13^th, 2011 the German accreditation agency ASIIN is authorized to award the Euro-Inf Quality Label to degree programmes at Bachelor’s and Master’s level on behalf of the European Quality Assurance Network for Informatics Education, EQANIE.

Upon conclusion of an accreditation contract by an Informatics Member in 2011, EQANIE will charge a basic fee of 5900, - EUR instead of 6500, - EUR.

The Conference organised by the European Quality Assurance Network for Informatics Education, EQANIE, at the University of Vienna on February 17 and 18th focussed on the use of Learning Outcomes (LO) as important tools for enhancng the quality of informatics education.

Case studies on QA systems in Spain and Hungary followed by presentations on accreditations with EQANIE.

EQANIE invites to a Conference on "Learning Outcomes and Quality Management in Informatics Education – Training and Exchange of Good Practice" on February 17th and 18th, 2011 in Vienna, Austria.

The German Association of Faculties of Informatics at Universities (Fakultätentag Informatik, FTI) has joined EQANIE as new member as of August 2010.

EQANIE invites to a workshop on Quality Assurance for Study Programmes in Informatics taking place in Prague on October 11^th, 2010. The event is colocated with the European Computer Science Summit 2010 organised by Informatics Europe on October 12^th and 13^th, 2010.

The new Chair and Vice Chair of the EQANIE Accreditation Committee have been elected. Prof Dr. Roland Ibbet will take office as the Committee’s new chair and Prof. Dr. Manfred Nagl as Vice Chair. First accreditation procedures have already commenced. 

EQANIE has joined the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies, INQAAHE.

At its meeting on March 15th, 2010, the Executive Board of the European Quality Assurance Network of Informatics Education, EQANIE, established the EQANIE Accreditation Committee. Higher Education Institutions are now called upon to submit requests for the award of the Euro-Inf Quality Label.

At the meeting of its General Assembly on March 15th, 2010, in Milan, the European Quality Assurance Network for Informatics Education, EQANIE, welcomed the Spanish National Conference of Deans and Directors for Universities’ Schools of Informatics, CODDI, as new member.

To the purpose of disseminating and further developing the results of the Euro-Inf Project, ASIIN has received support of the Lifelong Learning Programme of the European Union in launching the follow-up project “Euro-Inf Spread”.

EQANIE has cleared the ground for the accreditation of informatics/computer science study programmes of European Higher Education Institutions: at its recent meeting on July 2, 2009, the EQANIE Board adopted European framework standards and accreditation criteria for informatics programmes.
